Finding width and length when given area and ratios
I have a rectangle that is 1m2 and know that the height is 1.5 x the width. How do I calculate the actual height and width???

This is how I'd try it:
call width w.

area is length x width.

length = 1.5w

area = $1.5w^2 = 1$

$w^2 = \frac{1}{1.5}$

$w = \frac{\sqrt{6}}{3}$

Width = $\frac{\sqrt{6}}{3}$
Length = $\frac{\sqrt{6}}{2}$
