In parallelogram ABCD, AB = 2x + 5, m<BAC = 2y, m(B = 120, m<CAD = 21, and CD = 21 find x and y
this is not like the example i have to follow in my book at all!!!
Hello, kerilynn!
Did you make a sketch?
In parallelogram ABCD: .AB = 2x + 5, ./ BAC = 2y, ./ B = 120°, ./ CAD = 21°, .CD = 21
Find x and y.Code:B *-----------------* C / 120° * / / * / 2x+5 / * / 21 / 2y * / / * 21° / A *-----------------* D
Opposite sides of a parallelgram are equal.
. . Hence: .2x + 5 .= .21 . → . x = 8
Adjacent angles of a parallelogram are supplementary.
. . Hence: .(2y + 21°) + 120° .= .180° . → . y = 19.5°
