    Unusual Polygon Center Problem

Hey guys, I have an object made up of a set of lines (ie polygon), with no particular rules except that all the lines join to form one continuous line. (yes I am bad with mathimatical explanations).

I want to find the center and radius of the smallest circle that could be drawn containing every part of the polygon.

Does that make any sence? I did a lot of googleing on this and all I found was the center of mass/centroid stuff. If you dont understand what im going for I can add some images.

    Thanks,
    Poohshoes

If I understand you right, you want to find the apothem of the polygon, and then the center of the incircle.

If the polygon were regular, meaning equilateral/equiangular, then you should find many formulas for those in the internet. Try Wikipedia, for example.

If the polygon were irregular, that would be very difficult. Draw your figure and let us see.

If the polygon were not convex, I don't think there is a solution.
