    Calculating surface area

An ingot 80x10x300mm long is cast into a cyclinder 120mm diameter. Calculate its length and total surface area.

an open top cyclinder diameter 84mm x 150mm.

    Any help would be great

    Cheers

The first step is to calculate the volume of the ingot. This will be the same as the volume of the cylinder. You will need to know that for a cylinder, V=2\pi rh.

I assume the other information in your post is related to some other question; I can't make head nor tail of it.
