a water tank is in the shape of a cuboid, measuring 150cm by 100cm by 80cm.

1) how many litres would the tank hold?

2)the tank is initially empty and water flows into it from a pipe. the cross sectional area of the pipe is 2.1cm'2 and the water flows along the pipe at a rate of 35 cm/s. calculate the volume of water flowing from the pipe in 1 second, find the time taken to fill the tank??

1) 150 * 100 * 80 = 1200000 cm^3 = 1200000 ml = 1200 litres.

2) 35 * 2.1 = 73.5cm^3 in a second in the pipe.

1200000 / 73.5 = 16326.53061 seconds = 4.54 hours
