    Unhappy Geometry

    A cylinder with radius 3 inches and height 4 inches has its radius tripled. How many times greater is the volume of the larger cylinder that the smaller cylinder?

    Hello,

    Let r be the previous radius.

    V=\pi r^2 h

    Now, the new radius is 3r.

    So V'=\pi (3r)^2 h=9 \pi r^2 h=9 V
