1. ## [ASK] Exact Measure Using Two Bottles

Someone wants to take 4 liters of water, but he only has two 5-liters and 3-liters bottles. How is he able to measure 4 liters with only those bottles?

Hello,
I shall take 3-liters of water first into 3-liters bottle and pour it into 5-liters bottle.Again I shall take 3-liters water into 3-liters bottle and pour it into 5-liters bottle. Now I shall have 5-liters water into 5-liters bottle and 1-liter water into a 3-liters bottle. Now i shall empty the 5-liters bottle and pour 1-liter water from the 3-liters bottle into a 5-liters bottle. There after i shall take 3-liters water into a 3-litters bottle and pour into a 5-liters bottle so that i shall get 4-liters water into a 5-liters bottle.

Ah, I see. Though I needed to draw some pictures to fully comprehend them. Thanks.

Fill the 5 liter bottle with water.

Fill the 3 liter bottle from the 5 liter bottle.
We now have 3 liters of water in the 3 liter bottle and 2 liters of water in the 5 liter bottle.

Empty the 3 liter bottle.

Pour the water in the 5 liter bottle into the 3 liter bottle
We now have 2 liters of water in the 3 liter bottle and no water in the 5 liter bottle.

Fill the 5 liter bottle.
We now have 2 liters of water in the 3 liter bottle and 5 liters of water in the 5 liter bottle.

Fill the3 liter bottle from the 5 liter bottle.
We now have 3 liters of water in the 3 liter bottle and 4 liters of water in the 5 liter bottle.
