# Thread: Surface Area and Volume

1. ## Surface Area and Volume

There is a regular decagonal prism inscribed in a cylinder, meaning the vertices of the decagon lie on the outer edge of the circle of both bases. The diameter of the circle is 50 feet and the height of the prism is 16 feet. I need to find the volume and surface area.

2. ## Re: Surface Area and Volume

My answer needs to be rounded to the nearest hundredth and I am awfully confused on what to do. Thank you sm

3. ## Re: Surface Area and Volume

can you find the area of the decagon?

It's pretty straightforward.

How to Find the Area of Regular Polygons (with Examples)

the volume will then be the area of the decagon times 16.

The surface area is 2 times the area of the decagon plus 10 times the length of a side times the height.

4. ## Re: Surface Area and Volume

Thank you so much. I have learned how to find the area of a decagon. So it will be (.5)(23.79)(15.46)(10). I found 23.79 by doing tan18=7.73/x and sin18=x/25 for 7.73(2) because it was the height. Thx sooooooooooooooooo much
