    Determine Area of the Shape

    how to find area of this shape in the below:

    like this :

    area 1
    (12*12)/2=72*2
    =144cm2

    area 2
    (12*12)=144cm2

    total area (144cm2*144cm2)
    =288cm2

    It's correct..!

    How do you define Area 1? It seems you are trying to combine the two end-triangle into one measurement, but you are off by a factor of 2. (12x12)/2 = 72, not 144.
