Two triangles are similar if it can be shown that all the corresponding angles are equal. If the triangles are similar, then the corresponding sides are all in the same proportion.
Two triangles are congruent if it can be shown that they are similar and that all corresponding side lengths are also equal (i.e. they're in the proportion of 1).
