Pleas Help! With volume question

Mr Thorpe has arectangular lap pool that is 2 metres wide, 2 metres deep and 10 metres longwhich is filled to a depth of 1.7 m. Mr Thorpe climbs into the pool andsubmerges for ten seconds while his son measures the new depth at 173 cm.Calculate Mr Thorpe’s volume.

Re: Pleas Help! With volume question

Before Mr. Thorpe got in the pool, the volume of water was cubic meters. After he gets in the pool, the volume is cubic meters. Where do you think that extra volume came from?

Re: Pleas Help! With volume question

From Mr. Thorpe. Would I be correct in thinking the answer is 0.6 just want to be correct before I submit. 2 x 10 x 1.7 =34 2 x 10 x 1.73= 34.6 34.6-34 =0.6 cubic metres?

Re: Pleas Help! With volume question

Yes that is correct (although some more spaces would have been nice to be able to differentiate between your different equations >_< ).
