The question: Cube C1 has sides of length L, has an area A, and a volume V. Cube C2 has an area that is 1/3 A. What is the length of the sides and the volume of cube C2? Write in terms of L and V.

A_c1= 6*(l_c1)^2
v_c1=(l_c1)^3

a_c2=a_c1/3

(l_c2)^2=((l_c1)^2)/3 -----------------------1

v_c2/v_c1=((l_c2)/(l_c1))^3 -----------------2

Where do you get the 6 from in the first line?

It is the surface area of the cube=6* l^2

I arrive at the solutions of volume of C2 = 0.20 & length of C2 = 0.58
