Euclidean Geometry Question
Hi!

I attach a file here with a question and suggested solution. All is fine, except I would like to know how there is a sign change on |BE|^2 from the first line to the second line.

Re: Euclidean Geometry Question
Is it really a mistake??.....The creator of the solution is generally not a mistake-maker.Thanks ChessTal for the reply....Is there any way that the sign could be changed for some reason we are missing?

Only if B and E where identical. But |BE| is not zero so they are not identical. Therefore....

It's just a slip of the pen, the sign should be negative.
However, it would seem that you have not even noticed the main mistake, (which happens on the fourth line).
