Simple grade 8 Pythagoras Theorem problem
Hi, I have learnt pythagoras theorem in school and I am given this assignment (attached). Can someone help? It is best to keep to basic methods because I have not learnt much yet :|

Thanks a lot for your time!

Hello,

if I understand the problem and the attached sketch correctly then you cut off isosceles right triangles from a rectangle.

If and only if so:

1. The area of an isosceles right triangle is the half of a square, so no Pythagorean theorem needed.

2. Without any lengthes of the rectangle your problem cann't be solved.
