Hint: What do the sum of the exterior angles equal? What does that say about the number of sides?
So my geometry teacher gave me a problem worth extra credit, and I really need the points because for some reason, im just horrible at math. I have a low B and need a boost so I can make it through the year. Heres the problem, it confuses me and I have no idea how to do it. "How many sides does a polygon have it its exterior angles are 6, 6 1/11 6 2/11, 6 3/11..up to 6 11/11". I asked him after school to give me a little bit more help and he said that 6 11/11 would make 7 and then it would go to 7, then 7 1/11 2/11 and so on up until 8, then 8 1/11..yeah. But im still not getting it =s Can anybody help? Also he wanted me to explain how I figured it out, so that would be great that if should anybody find thr answer, an explanation comes with it. Thanks =)
So what I did was convert the fractions to decimals and continue to add until I got 360..at least that was the plan. When I finished calculating the decimals they only added up to 359.809 and a total of 36 sides. Did I at least set the problem up right, and then make a calculating error?
I just love your forum. Thanks for posting it. it have something that someone comeback again….there is a lot of useful information a person can get from here…I must say, well done.A good forum with great discussion and a good users, which contribute in the forum
