Circumference of stitching = S = 2x + 2y + π x
Now S = 100 Thus 2x + 2y + π x = 100 that gives y = 50 – x - π/2 x
Area A = 2xy – + 1/2 π x^2 where y = 50 – x - π/2 x
I would just like to raise a concern in that how awful the clarity of worded problems are becoming nowadays (this one just adds to all the others I've seen). Should it not read perimeter of stitching?
