Ratio of areas
The ratio of similitude of two similar triangle is 3:5. What is the ratio of their areas?

please have a little help. I don't understand the problem on the term similitude..

Ratio of similitude refers to the ratio of the corresponding sides in the similar figures in this case the triangles.

If you have two similar figures, then you have a scaling factor for the sides, call it k.

Then the scaling factor for the areas is k^2.
