# Thread: Question about Triangle Congruence?

1. ## Question about Triangle Congruence?

Hello everyone, I just joined this site and I think it will be very beneficial in dealing with any future math problems. Now, I am really good at Math, Algebra in particular. I am good at Geometry, and enjoy the subject, but I am really confused about Triangle Congruence. Basically all the different ways you can tell if triangles are congruent. Mainly though SAS, SSS, AAS, ASA, etc. Is there ANY way at all the someone could explain these to me? My teacher didn't do a great job explaining them. I know the theorem that explains how to use them, but it seems you can use them on Triangles that don't have markings indicating congruence? Help, I'm so Confused!!!!!

Basically there are just three ways: $SAS,~ SSS,~\&~ ASA$
Because of the angle sum theorem, $AAS$ is the same as $ASA$.
So really one just learns to recognize the three cases.
And that comes with practice.
