    Triangle's side

    Hey!

I have this problem: In triangle ABC, |AC| is 9, |BC| is 7. Point M is the midpoint of |AB|, and |CM| is also 7. What is the length of |AB|

The only way to solve the problem, that I can think of is using the cosine rule, but it is said that the problem could be solved without using trigonometry. Can anyone give me an idea how?

    Re: Triangle's side

There's an easy solution using Stewart's theorem, but that's about all I see.
