I need to know the value of s and a. S is the side length of the hexagon and a is the smallest width.
The only value I know is A = 48 (inches) and the circumradius which is also 48.
Hello, cadenlyon2002!
I need to know the value of $\displaystyle s$ and $\displaystyle a$.
$\displaystyle S$ is the side length of the hexagon and $\displaystyle a$ is the smallest width.
The only value I know is $\displaystyle A$ = 48 inches, and the circumradius which is also 48 inches.
Could you provide the original wording of the problem?
As given, it's both sloppy and incorrect.
Is it a regular hexagon? .It should say so ... clearly.
There seems to be four variables: $\displaystyle S,\,s,\,A,\,a.$
If the smallest width is 48, the circumradius is not 48.
Are you also known as "september.cooper"?
It doesn't matter.
See my response to him/her at FMH.
I think at the time math is very difficult subject, parents should help kids in solving math problems. and about 6 sided I want to share a simple definition as-6 sided polygon is called as Hexagon, This is one type of regular polygons, it may be regular or irregular. Its a 6 sided closed figure.

I suggest you be more careful. You cannot say a hexagon "is one type of regular polygons" and then say "it may be regular or irregular". In any case, I see no reason to think that cadenlyon2002 did NOT know what a "hexagon" is. Yes, a hexagon is a closed, 6-sided, two-dimensional figure. If all 6 sides have the same length and all 6 angles are the same, then the hexagon is "regular" and then it is 'one type of regular polygon'.
