Need help finding surface area

I'm reviewing in preparation of the last test. I guess I'm having some problems with this geometry question. I know the formulas for both objects I'm just not sure how to put them together since the triangle will have the base of the rectangle. So, I'm uncertain with what adjustments need to be made with the traditional math formula

Should i not cover the entire area of the rectangle with 2(wh+1w+lh)
