    Uniform Distribution within a Sphere

    Hi

Hope this is the right area to pose my question. Iím posed with an problem along the lines

I have a sphere of a cubic capacity of say 7 cubic meters

Now if I have say 23 tennis balls of a know size in the sphere how can I work out if they are equally distributed within the sphere what gap will there be between the tennis balls.

    Does this make sense ?

I would suggest that you generate an empirical distribution for some statistic of the seperation of random balls by generating a large Monte-Carlo sample (say the mean square seperation of random balls from the 23 in the sphere), and then compare with the value for the actial distribution.
