I need help to solve these home work problems.
1. ABC is a triangle. F is a point in AC. BA is produced to E so that AE=AF. EF is produced to meet BC in D. If D be the midpoint of BC, prove that BE=CF
2.ABC is an isosceles triangle in which AB=AC. P is any point on BC. PE and PF are drawn perpendicular to AC and AB respectively. BR is perpendicular to AC. Prove that PE+PF=BR

I have tried and got the solution for the second problem. i achieved that by eqauating the areas of the traingle.
If you can given me any idea for the first one, it would be helpful to finish the same also.
