i cant get this problem. i need some help like in a major way.

so here is the problem...how do i get this started? what are the trapezoid rules?

Why are you calling this a trapezoid AND a parallelogram?

Your wording refers to the parallelogram as ABCD but diagram shows ABDF; please clarify...

For lengths of line segments let .

The area of the trapezoid .
Add those together.

ok why did you multiply by HE for the area of the trapezoid?

Do you know how to determine the area of a trapezoid?
If not, look it up.
