    Area and Perimeter Questions

    I'm kinda lost here:

    Which is larger A or B? Justify your answer with full and appropriate working,
    A: The Surface Area of a cube of side 2 cm
    B: The Surface Area of a closed cylinder of diameter 2 cm and height 2cm. Use the value of (Pie sign) on your calculator and round your final answer to two decimal places.

    A. Surface area of cube = 6s^2 = 24 \ \text{cm}^2

    B. Surface area of closed cylinder: 2 \pi rh + 2 \pi r^2 = 8 \pi + 8 \pi = 16 \pi \approx 50.27 \ \text{cm}^2

    So B is larger.
