# Math Help - Solving parallelogram sides

1. ## Solving parallelogram sides

I'm trying to solve this Parallelogram but i cannot find the answer or at least i feel i cant.

2. If it's a parallelogram, then opposite sides are equal in length. So:

$5y=2y+18$

and...

$3x-7=2x+9$

See if you can take it from here. Post your working if you get stuck.

Edit: Remember that the angles within a quadrilateral sum to $360$, not the lengths of the sides!

3. How could i forget that, thanks allot.. I can't believe this afternoon I was doing good on it and now I forgot about it thinking about Outside angles which add up to 360 Thanks.. here are my answers

Y=6
and X=16
& i cheeked my answers so now i really just have to say thanks again!!
