    Solving parallelogram sides

    I'm trying to solve this Parallelogram but i cannot find the answer or at least i feel i cant.

    If it's a parallelogram, then opposite sides are equal in length. So:

    5y=2y+18

    and...

    3x-7=2x+9

    See if you can take it from here. Post your working if you get stuck.

    Edit: Remember that the angles within a quadrilateral sum to 360, not the lengths of the sides!

    How could i forget that, thanks allot.. I can't believe this afternoon I was doing good on it and now I forgot about it thinking about Outside angles which add up to 360 Thanks.. here are my answers

    Y=6
    and X=16
    & i cheeked my answers so now i really just have to say thanks again!!
