Thread: Pythagoras' Theorem.

I'm way overdue in my Geometry assignments and I have a few problems that are stumping me. I don't necessarily want the answer to these problems but would like step-by-step help:

1. Find the value of x. Leave your answer in simplest radical form.


2. Find the value of x.

Each of these is solved by putting the values of each side into the equation for Pythagoras' Theorem, i.e. , where is the hypotenuse.

Post what you have done and show where you are stuck please.

I assume geometry assignments are meant to be your own work and not the work of others.
