The area of a trapezium is given by $\displaystyle A = h \left(\dfrac{a+b}{2}\right)$ where a and b are the parallel sidesh is the perpendicular height In this question a = 11, b = 7 and h = 6 I get an area of 54
i don't understand! i understand 11+7=77/2=35.8 but how do i use the 6?
11+7 = 18 not 77! in the formula above h is the perpendicular height and in your diagram 6 is the perpendicular height
oh sorry, misread it, though it said 11 x7 thanks alot i understand now.
