    Analytical Geometry

    In which ratio is the line segment joining the points (1, −7) and (−19, 23) divided by the line, 2x + 7y − 4 = 0?

    Find the point of intersection of the line and the line segment. Then use the distance formula twice. Try the details yourself and let us know if and where you get stuck.
