Thread: equation of parallel line

find the equation of a line which is parallel to the line who's equation is y-2x-13=0 and passes through the points (2 7)

for a parallel line m1 = m2

this is what i have done to get the equation of the line..

y-y1=m (x-x1)
y-7=2(x-2)
y-7=2x-4
y=2x+3

is this correct?
