Thread: Software used for investigation into cuboid regions

Hi all!

I am investigating the maximum number of parts that are obtained with n cuts.

I have downloaded Autograph and Archimedes Geo 3D, and trawled through the tutorials and most of the manual - but am still unable to find a way to calculate the number of enclosed parts after inserting planes into the cuboid shape.

As you can probably imagine, it's tough count the number of parts in a 3D shape after 4 cuts!

If you know how to do this, I'd appreciate any advice. Or, if alternative geometry software can achieve this, please recommend (with instructions if possible!).

I don't understand what you mean by "the cuboid shape".

Are you trying to determine the max number of parts that space is divided into by n planes? ...Or is it something else?
