    Relative Triangles

    Here is the maths question diagram I made: Tri Tri by ~benjaminpott on deviantART

    I have absolutely no idea how to find y let alone prove if they are congruent.

    Any help would be amazing!


    I know the lines in the diagram do not look paralell, but they are meant to be.

    When you say that the lines are parallel, do you mean this?

    If so, then just use a proportion:
    $\displaystyle \frac{y}{3.7} = \frac{1.7}{6.4}$
    ... and solve for y.
