    volume for a cylinder

    For this cylinder the radius r = 6.8 inches and the height L = 14.2 inches. Which is the BEST estimate for the volume? (Use π = 3.14)
    A)
    1686 in3
    B)
    1962 in3
    C)
    2008 in3
    D)
    2154 in3

    The volume of a prism is given by \text{ Cross Sectional Area } \times \text{ Length}

    For a cylinder the cross section is equal to that of a circle, hence the volume is given by V = \pi r^2 l

    I get an answer of 2061.75 which doesn't seem all that close
