The radius of a base of a circular cone is 5cm and the height is 6cm. Find the area of the cross section 2cm from the base.

The radius of the base in proportional to the height.

So H/R = h/r. H, R and h= (6-2) is given. Find r and hence the area of he base.

but can you do the porportion because they are not similar figures?
