    Using the formula or calculus?

The Surface Area of a sphere is:

Well I dont know about him, But I have a review problem for my final in calculus 4 that asks that question and states nothing else...So I am assuming you can do it whichever way? But I have no clue how to do it.

    Solution using calculus.(see attach)
    Using geometry is easy.
Surface area is 4 pi radius^2, since the radius is 1, the answer is 4 pi
