In a regular hexagon the diagonals are increased by 30%. BY what percentage will the area of the hexagon increase as a result?
If you have similar figures with any linear dimesion scalled by a factor r
between them then the area is scalled by a factor r^2.
So the diagonals of the enlarged hexagon are 1.3 times those of the original
so the area is 1.3^2= 1.69 times bigger, so the area is 68% larger.
