    do you know what "perimeter" means? it is the sum of all the sides. we have a parallelogram here, so opposite sides are equal. so we have:

    x + x + (x + 2) + (x + 2) = 52
    => 4x + 4 = 52
    => 4x = 52 - 4 = 48
    => x = 48/4
    => x = 12.

    so JK = x + 2 = 14
    and JM = x = 12

    Hello,

    I assume that your quadrilateral is a parallelogram.

    I've modified your drawing a little bit. As you can see (see attachment), the perimeter consists of:

    x + x+2 + x + x+2 = 52

    4x + 4 = 52

    4x = 48

    x = 12

    Therefore the sides of the parallelogram are 12 cm and 14 cm long.

    Hello, Jhevon, that was a near miss

    Yes it was. you did a better job though, complete with a modified diagram. i'm on a school pc, i don't have enough freedom to use things like paint, and online drawing tools are annoying most of the time

    i haven't seen you on in a while, good to see you

    Hi,

    thanks - I spend a couple of weeks on a Dutch island watching the tulips in full bloom. Very relaxing.
