Which, in your opinion, is a better example of a real world application of non-euclidean geometry?
Lines of longitude are parallel and intersect at the N adn S pole, or two flag poles in different cities are parallel?
Can you think of an example that would better illustrate this sort of application?

Lines of longditude are not "parallel", there are no parallels in elliptic geometries.

I can't even think of what you might mean by "flag poles in different cities rae parallel".
