What do you mean by "slope?" Do you simply mean is angle 1 greater than or less than angle 5? If so, then note that angle 2 = 180 (degrees) - angle 1 because they are supplimentary angles. Note also that angle 2 = 180 - (angle 3 + angle 5) since the sum of all the angles in a triangle is 180.

Thus:

180 - angle 1 = 180 - (angle 3 + angle 5)

Or, after some rearranging:

angle 1 = angle 5 + angle 3

Since angle 3 has a value greater than 0, angle 1 > angle 5.
