You should know the formula for the area of a circle and a rectangle. You don't need another formula for this compound shape. Break it upinto a rectangle (you have the length amd breadth) and two semicircles (or one circle)- you can easily work out the radius.

First you have to break it into one rectangle in the middle and two semicircles on each side.

The area of the rectangle is

$\displaystyle 6in\times10in=60in^2$

The area of each semicircle is

$\displaystyle \frac{3^2\pi}{2}in^2=\frac{9\pi}{2}in^2$
Since there are two semicircles,

$\displaystyle \frac{9\pi}{2}in^2\times2=9\pi in^2$

Pi's approximate value is 3.14, so

$\displaystyle 60in^2+9\pi in^2 \\ =60in^2+9(3.14)in^2\\ =60in^2+28.26in^2\\=88.26in^2\\ \approx 88.3in^2$
