    finding x for this question

    Given: traingle ABC similar traingle DEF, AB= X minus 1 , AC = x plus 3, De = 4, DF = 5, find the value of x

    Use the fact that the triangles are similar, and set up the similarity ratios and equation. Solve the resulting equation for the value of the variable. Then back-solve for the side lengths.
