I really don't understand this stuff, I have been trying to figure it out for 3 days. D:
1. Find the area of the smaller segment whose chord is 8" long in a circle with an 8" radius.
2. Find the area of the larger segment whose chord is 8" long in a circle with an 8" radius. (Hint: A chord divides a circle into two segments. In problem 1, you found the area of the smaller segment.)

4. Find the area of the shaded portion intersecting between the two circles.

I have written a long explanation of how to solve this problem. I'm a poor typist and would like some information from you before posting it.
Are you a geometry student close to finishing your final term? Since you say you don't understand this "stuff" tell me why I should.
