    Hands on a clock - mensuration

    A town clock has "hands" that are of length 62cm and 85cm.
    Find the angle between the hands at half past ten.

    I'm confused because I've only been given two sides ?

    Well, since "angle between the hands" is obviously the angle made by the
    hands at the center of the clock, then at 10.30 the hour-hand points halfway
    between 10 and 11, and the minute-hand points at 6, so angle = 135 degrees;
    you don't even need the given lengths...
