Thread: Formula of a triangle given only two sides

Is there anyway to find the formula of a triangle given two sides ONLY without an included angle?

You are given an isosceles triangle with sides a = 4, b = 6 but the problem is that you do not know whether side a = b or side c = b although you know one of this side must be equal to c. so is there anyway you can solve for the area or height of this triangle.

The best you can do is to find the area and height of both triangles: (4, 4, 6) and (4, 6, 6).
