Hi You need to use the fact that angle $\displaystyle \theta$ is unchanged at reflection Using Pythagorean theorem $\displaystyle l = \sqrt{(h_t-h_r)^2+d^2}$ $\displaystyle x + x' = \sqrt{(h_t+h_r)^2+d^2}$
