    swimming pool problem

    Denise plans to build a swimming pool in her backyard. The pool will be 25 ft long, 10 ft wide, and 6 ft deep. About how many cubic yards of dirt must be removed by an excavator before swimming pool construction can begin?

    A) 1500 ydł B) 167 ydł C) 56 ydł D) 500 ydł E) 164 ydł

    Convert the dimensions of the pool from feet to yards and then use the usual formula for calculating the volume of a box.

    First of all the shape must be known although I will assume a cuboid

    Either do what Mr F said or multiply your ft measurements and divide by 27

    V = \frac{1}{27}(25 \cdot 10 \cdot 6) = \frac{1}{9}(25 \cdot 10 \cdot 2)
