    Question [SOLVED] Triangle question..

    If AB=8 in. and AC=10 in., what is the perimeter of triangle ABC?

    You have to choose which side of the triangle you are making your base.
    Then you have to follow the rule that the base is the larger number and the other two sides are smaller numbers but their sum is greater than the base. So is you base was the side that equaled 10 in. then you third side has to equal minimum 3 in. and maximum 9 in. So you would just write out a linear equation.

    The 3rd side of a triangle is always less than the sum, but more than the difference, of the other two sides. So the 3rd side is less than 18, but more than 2. The perimeter is the sum of all the sides, so the perimeter is between
    18+2 and 18 + 18
