    Equation of Locus

    A hospital is located at the coordinates (2,4) on a coordinate grid. The hospital's ambulance service extends for 30 miles. Write the equation of the locus which represents the outer edge of the ambulance service area.

    The locus of the outer edge is a circle, whose center is point (2,4) and whose radius is 30 miles.

    (x-2)^2 +(y-4)^2 = 30^2
    (x-2)^2 +(y-4)^2 = 900 ----------answer.
