Hi,

The following is given in my text-book as an example of a symmetric relation (in English):

"Set A is related to set B if $A \cap B \neq \emptyset$"

How would I express the following relation in set-builder notation?

Is it simply: $R = \lbrace (A, B) | A \cap B \neq \emptyset \rbrace$?

So for example, $(\lbrace 1, 2 \rbrace, \lbrace 1, 3 \rbrace) \in R$?
