A student must answer eight of ten questions on an exam. How many different choices can the student make?

2. Hello, AlgebraicallyChallenged!

A student must answer eight of ten questions on an exam.
How many different choices can the student make?

This is a Combination problem.
The order in which he selects (and answers) the questions does not matter.

We are simply selecting 8 objects from 10 objects.

This number is: / $_{10}C_8 \:=\:{10\choose8} \:=\:\frac{10!}{8!\,2!} \;=\;45$
